A-Ma Temple, located in Macau, is one of the oldest and most famous temples in the region. Dedicated to Mazu, the goddess of the sea, the temple dates back to 1488 and is a significant cultural and historical site. The complex consists of several halls and pavilions, each with unique architectural styles and features, reflecting the blend of Confucianism, Taoism, Buddhism, and folk beliefs. The temple's name is believed to be the origin of Macau's name, as early Portuguese settlers named the area after the temple.
