The Abbey of Echternach in Echternach, Luxembourg, is a historic Benedictine monastery founded in the 7th century by the Anglo-Saxon missionary Willibrord. It became a significant center of religious, cultural, and intellectual activity during the Middle Ages. The abbey is renowned for its scriptorium, where numerous important manuscripts were produced, and for its annual dancing procession, a unique religious tradition that attracts many visitors. The complex includes a basilica, which has undergone several renovations but retains elements from its original Romanesque and Gothic architecture.
