Adam's Peak, also known as Sri Pada, is a renowned mountain in Sri Lanka that stands at an elevation of 2,243 meters (7,359 feet). This sacred site is significant to multiple religions, including Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, and Christianity, each attributing different legends to the footprint-shaped indentation near its summit. Buddhists believe the footprint belongs to Lord Buddha, Hindus attribute it to Lord Shiva, while Christians and Muslims consider it to be Adam’s first step after being exiled from the Garden of Eden. Pilgrims and tourists alike undertake the challenging climb, often starting at night to reach the summit by dawn, in order to witness the breathtaking sunrise and the mystical shadow cast by the peak.
