Addo Elephant National Park, located near Gqeberha (formerly known as Port Elizabeth) in South Africa, is a renowned wildlife conservation area and one of the country's most famous parks. Established in 1931 to protect the remaining 11 elephants in the area, the park has since expanded to cover over 1,640 square kilometers and is home to more than 600 elephants today. The park boasts a diverse range of habitats, including dense thickets, open plains, and coastal areas, supporting a rich variety of wildlife such as lions, buffalo, black rhinos, zebras, and numerous bird species. Addo Elephant National Park is also unique in that it includes marine environments, protecting species like the great white shark and southern right whale.
