Alba Carolina Citadel, located in Alba Iulia, Romania, is a star-shaped fortress considered one of the largest and most well-preserved citadels in the country. Constructed between 1715 and 1738 during the Habsburg rule, it was designed by Italian architect Giovanni Morando Visconti. The citadel showcases impressive Baroque architecture and features seven bastions named after saints. It played a significant role in the military, political, and cultural history of Transylvania.
