The Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Sofia, Bulgaria, is one of the largest Eastern Orthodox cathedrals in the world and serves as a key architectural and cultural landmark in the city. Built between 1882 and 1912, the cathedral was constructed to commemorate the soldiers who died in the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878, which led to Bulgaria's liberation from Ottoman rule. The cathedral's design features a stunning Neo-Byzantine style, characterized by its large central dome, intricate mosaics, and richly decorated interior. It can accommodate up to 10,000 people and houses a collection of religious icons and relics.
