Alexanderplatz, often referred to simply as "Alex," is a significant public square and transportation hub located in the central district of Mitte in Berlin, Germany. Historically, it has served as a central meeting point and commercial area since the 19th century. Named after Tsar Alexander I, who visited Berlin in 1805, the square has undergone numerous transformations, especially during the post-war reconstruction period and the era of the German Democratic Republic.
