Amédée Lighthouse, located on Amédée Island near Nouméa in New Caledonia, is an iconic maritime landmark. Constructed in 1862, this lighthouse stands at an impressive height of 56 meters (184 feet) and is one of the tallest lighthouses in the world made of wrought iron. Designed by Léonce Reynaud and prefabricated in Paris, it was shipped in pieces and assembled on the island. The lighthouse played a crucial role in guiding ships safely through the surrounding coral reefs and into Nouméa's harbor.
