The Astrakhan Kremlin is a historic fortress located in Astrakhan, Russia, situated on an island between the Volga and Kutum Rivers. Constructed between the late 16th and early 17th centuries, the Kremlin was designed to serve both as a military stronghold and as a center of administrative and religious authority. Its imposing walls, towers, and gates are characteristic of Russian fortification architecture of the period. The Kremlin complex includes notable structures such as the Assumption Cathedral, which features stunning examples of Russian Orthodox ecclesiastical architecture, and the Trinity Cathedral.
