Augusta Raurica, located in Augst, Switzerland, is an ancient Roman archaeological site and open-air museum. Founded in 44 BC by Lucius Munatius Plancus, it was an important Roman colony and a thriving urban center during the Roman Empire. The site includes well-preserved ruins such as a Roman theater, a temple, an amphitheater, and residential buildings. Visitors can explore the remains of the ancient city, view artifacts in the museum, and gain insights into the daily life of its inhabitants through reconstructed buildings and interactive exhibits.
