Batu Caves is a renowned limestone hill located in Gombak, Selangor, Malaysia, which houses a series of caves and cave temples. It is one of the most popular Hindu shrines outside of India, dedicated to Lord Murugan. The site is known for its towering statue of Lord Murugan, which stands at 42.7 meters (140 feet) high, making it the tallest statue of the deity in the world. Visitors must climb a steep flight of 272 colorful steps to reach the main Temple Cave. The caves themselves are characterized by impressive stalactites and stalagmites, and the complex also includes several smaller temples and shrines.
