Besakih Temple, also known as Pura Besakih, is the largest and holiest temple complex on the Indonesian island of Bali. Often referred to as the "Mother Temple," it is situated on the slopes of Mount Agung, Bali's highest volcano. This ancient temple complex comprises 23 separate but related temples, with the largest and most important being Pura Penataran Agung. The origins of Besakih Temple date back over a thousand years, and it serves as an important spiritual center for Balinese Hinduism. The temple is renowned for its majestic architecture, intricate stone carvings, and stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
