Biserica Neagră, or the Black Church, is a historic Gothic-style church located in Brașov, Romania. It is one of the most significant landmarks in the city and a key example of Gothic architecture in the region. The church was originally built by the German community of the city and was completed in the 15th century. It earned its name after a great fire in 1689, which blackened its walls. The Black Church is also renowned for its impressive collection of Anatolian carpets and its large pipe organ, which is one of the largest in Eastern Europe.
