Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, located in western Colorado, is renowned for its dramatic and steep canyon walls carved by the Gunnison River over millions of years. The park boasts some of the most spectacular vertical cliffs, spires, and rock formations in North America, with the canyon plunging to depths of over 2,700 feet. Visitors can explore various viewpoints along the North and South Rims, engage in hiking, rock climbing, and fishing, or take scenic drives that offer breathtaking vistas of the rugged landscape. The park is also a designated International Dark Sky Park, making it an excellent spot for stargazing.
