The Bronx Zoo in New York City is one of the largest metropolitan zoos in the world, spanning 265 acres of parklands and naturalistic habitats. Located within Bronx Park, the zoo first opened its doors to the public in 1899 and has since become a premier destination for wildlife enthusiasts and families. It houses over 6,000 animals representing more than 700 species, ranging from the iconic African lions and giraffes to exotic birds and reptiles.
