Burkhan Bakshin Altan Sume, also known as the Golden Abode of the Buddha Shakyamuni, is a prominent Buddhist temple located in Elista, the capital of the Republic of Kalmykia in Russia. It stands as one of the largest and most significant Buddhist temples in Europe. The temple was inaugurated in 2005 and serves as a center for Buddhist worship and cultural activities. The architecture is striking, featuring a grand statue of the Buddha, intricate murals, and beautifully landscaped gardens.
