Caral, located in the Supe Valley of Peru, is one of the oldest known civilizations in the Americas, dating back to around 2600 BCE. This ancient city is remarkable for its well-preserved architectural structures, including pyramids, plazas, and residential complexes, which provide insight into early urban planning and social organization. Caral is often referred to as the cradle of civilization in the Americas due to its significance in the development of complex societies. Archaeological findings suggest that Caral was a thriving metropolis with a sophisticated understanding of agriculture, trade, and possibly even early forms of writing and communication.
