Castel Nuovo, also known as Maschio Angioino, is a historic medieval castle located in Naples, Italy. Built in 1279 by Charles I of Anjou, it has served as a royal residence for various monarchs. The castle is renowned for its impressive architecture, combining elements of Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque styles. Its notable features include the grand Triumphal Arch, which was added in the mid-15th century to celebrate Alfonso I of Aragon's entry into the city, and the Palatine Chapel, which contains beautiful frescoes.
