Castello Estense, also known as the Este Castle, is a moated medieval structure located in Ferrara, Italy. Constructed in 1385 by Nicolò II d'Este, the castle served as both a fortress and a residence for the powerful Este family. Its imposing brick walls, drawbridges, and four corner towers give it a distinctive and formidable appearance. Over the centuries, it has been modified and expanded, blending elements of medieval defensive architecture with Renaissance elegance. Inside, visitors can explore richly decorated rooms, dungeons, and the beautiful Ducal Chapel.
