About

The Castle in Písek, located in the town of Písek in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic, dates back to the 13th century. Originally constructed as a royal castle by order of King Ottokar II of Bohemia, it served as a strategic stronghold and administrative center. Over the centuries, the castle underwent various modifications and renovations, reflecting different architectural styles from Gothic to Renaissance. Today, parts of the castle have been preserved and integrated into the Prácheň Museum, which offers exhibitions on local history, art, and culture.
