The Cathedral-Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar in Zaragoza, Spain, is a magnificent baroque-style church that stands as one of the most important Marian sanctuaries in the Catholic world. According to tradition, the Virgin Mary appeared to the Apostle James on a pillar (or "pilar" in Spanish) at this site, making it a key pilgrimage destination.
