Chad Basin National Park
Chad Basin National Park, located in northeastern Nigeria, is a unique and ecologically significant area that encompasses a variety of ecosystems, including wetlands, savannas, and desert landscapes. Established in 1991, the park covers an area of approximately 2,258 square kilometers and is divided into three distinct sectors: the Chingurmi-Duguma sector, the Bade-Nguru Wetlands, and the Bulatura Oasis. The park is home to diverse wildlife, including species such as elephants, leopards, and a variety of bird species, making it a significant site for birdwatching and conservation efforts. The wetlands within the park are particularly notable for their role in sustaining migratory bird populations and supporting local biodiversity.
