Founded in the 12th century by Lama Phajo Drugom Zhigpo, this ancient temple sits perched on a ridge overlooking the Thimphu valley. The temple is renowned for its intricately designed architecture and houses impressive statues and sacred relics, including a central statue of Avalokiteshvara (Chenrezig in Bhutanese), the Buddha of Compassion.
