Château d'Ancy-le-Franc

Château d'Ancy-le-Franc is a Renaissance château located in the town of Ancy-le-Franc, in the Yonne department of France. Constructed between 1544 and 1550, it was designed by the Italian architect Sebastiano Serlio for Antoine III de Clermont-Tonnerre. The château is renowned for its harmonious blend of French and Italian Renaissance architectural styles. It features an impressive collection of frescoes and murals, extensive parks and gardens, and a symmetrical layout that reflects the Renaissance ideals of proportion and order.
