The Château de Quéribus is a striking medieval fortress located near the village of Cucugnan in the Aude department of southern France. Perched atop a rocky peak in the Corbières Mountains, it offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The castle is part of the "Cathar Castles" and is often associated with the Albigensian Crusade against the Cathar heresy in the 13th century. Its strategic position made it one of the last Cathar strongholds to fall. Visitors can explore its well-preserved architecture, including defensive walls, towers, and a keep that showcases the military engineering prowess of the time.
