Château de Saumur is a historic castle located in the town of Saumur, in the Loire Valley of France. This remarkable structure originally dates back to the 10th century, when it was built by Theobald I, Count of Blois. Over the centuries, it has undergone numerous transformations, serving various roles from a fortress to a residence and even a prison. Today, the Château de Saumur houses the Musée de Saumur, which includes a vast collection of decorative arts, tapestries, and equestrian artifacts.
