The Citadel of Aleppo is a large medieval fortified palace in the center of the old city of Aleppo, Syria. It is considered one of the oldest and largest castles in the world, with archaeological evidence suggesting the site has been occupied since at least the 3rd millennium BC. The citadel has seen various civilizations, including the Greeks, Byzantines, Ayyubids, and Ottomans, each leaving their mark on its architecture and structure. The most prominent features of the citadel include its massive stone walls, grand entrance bridge, and the throne hall.
