Colditz Castle is a historic fortress located in the town of Colditz, Germany. Perched on a hill overlooking the Zwickauer Mulde River, the castle has a rich history dating back to the 11th century. It gained international fame during World War II as Oflag IV-C, a high-security prisoner-of-war camp for Allied officers.
