Copper Canyon, known in Spanish as Barranca del Cobre, is a group of six distinct canyons located in the southwestern part of the state of Chihuahua, Mexico. This stunning natural wonder is larger and deeper than the Grand Canyon in the United States. Known for its breathtaking landscapes, Copper Canyon boasts a variety of ecosystems ranging from arid desert to lush forests. The region is home to the indigenous Rarámuri (or Tarahumara) people, famous for their long-distance running abilities. Visitors can explore the area via the renowned Chihuahua al Pacífico Railway, also known as El Chepe, which offers spectacular views and connects several remote communities.
