Curieuse Island is a granitic island located in the Seychelles archipelago in the Indian Ocean. It is part of the Inner Islands and lies just off the northern coast of the larger island of Praslin. Known for its rich biodiversity, Curieuse Island is a designated national park and marine reserve, offering a sanctuary for a variety of plant and animal species. The island is particularly famous for its population of Aldabra giant tortoises and its unique coco de mer palm trees. Visitors to Curieuse can explore its pristine beaches, mangrove forests, and historical sites, including the ruins of a former leper colony.
