Danum Valley Conservation Area is a pristine rainforest reserve located in the Malaysian state of Sabah on the island of Borneo. Spanning over 438 square kilometers, this conservation area is renowned for its rich biodiversity and is home to an array of wildlife, including orangutans, pygmy elephants, and clouded leopards. The forest is also a haven for birdwatchers, with over 340 bird species recorded. Danum Valley is not only a key site for scientific research but also offers eco-tourism opportunities, with facilities like the Danum Valley Field Centre and Borneo Rainforest Lodge providing access to its lush, unspoiled landscapes.
