The Dhowa Rock Temple, located in Ella, Sri Lanka, is a historic Buddhist temple that dates back over 2,000 years. This ancient temple is renowned for its impressive rock carvings and serene atmosphere. One of its most striking features is the unfinished 38-foot Buddha statue carved into the rock face, which is believed to have been started during the reign of King Walagamba in the 1st century BC. The temple also houses several beautiful paintings and intricate sculptures that depict various aspects of Buddhist mythology.
