Doornenburg Castle is a well-preserved medieval fortress located in Doornenburg, Netherlands. Dating back to the 9th century, it originally began as a simple fortified manor but was expanded into a full-scale castle in the 13th century. The castle features a distinctive design with a large outer bailey and a smaller, more fortified inner keep. During World War II, Doornenburg Castle suffered significant damage but was meticulously restored in the 1960s.
