The Dormition Cathedral in Smolensk, Russia, is a significant historical and architectural landmark. Constructed between the 17th and 18th centuries, the cathedral is renowned for its Baroque design and its striking blue and white exterior. The cathedral was built on the site of an earlier church that was destroyed during the Time of Troubles in the early 17th century. Inside, the cathedral houses numerous religious artifacts and iconostases, making it a vital center for Orthodox Christian worship.
