Effigy Mounds National Monument in Iowa, USA, is an extraordinary site that preserves more than 200 prehistoric mounds built by Native American cultures. Many of these mounds are shaped like animals, including bears and birds, which is unique among mound-building cultures. The monument spans over 2,500 acres of forested land along the Mississippi River, offering visitors scenic trails, educational exhibits, and a glimpse into ancient cultural practices.
