El Capitan is a prominent granite monolith located in Yosemite National Park, California, USA. Standing at approximately 3,000 feet (900 meters) from base to summit, it is one of the most famous landmarks in the park and a popular destination for rock climbers from around the world. The sheer vertical face of El Capitan offers a variety of challenging climbing routes, including the well-known "The Nose" route.
