Fort Stevens, located in Warrenton, Oregon, USA, is a historic military installation that served as part of the coastal defense system at the mouth of the Columbia River. Established during the Civil War in 1863, the fort was named after Isaac Stevens, the first governor of Washington Territory. Fort Stevens played a significant role during World War II when it was attacked by a Japanese submarine, marking one of the few times the continental United States was directly attacked during the war.
