The Fountain of Eternal Life, also known as the War Memorial Fountain, is a prominent monument located in downtown Cleveland, Ohio. Designed by Cleveland sculptor Marshall Fredericks and dedicated on May 30, 1964, the fountain serves as a tribute to the city's residents who have served in the armed forces. The central figure, a towering bronze sculpture, depicts a man reaching skyward, symbolizing the aspiration for eternal life and peace. Surrounding the figure are four granite bas-relief statues representing the four principal races of mankind, symbolizing the unity of humanity.
