The Frank Church–River of No Return Wilderness is a vast protected area located in central Idaho, USA. Covering approximately 2.3 million acres, it is the second-largest wilderness area in the contiguous United States. This rugged and remote wilderness is named after Frank Church, a U.S. Senator who was a strong advocate for environmental protection, and the "River of No Return," which refers to the Salmon River that runs through the heart of the area. The landscape features deep canyons, dense forests, and towering mountain ranges, providing habitat for diverse wildlife including elk, deer, wolves, and bears. The wilderness offers numerous recreational opportunities such as hiking, rafting, fishing, and camping, attracting adventurers seeking solitude and a pristine natural environment.
