Fribourg Cathedral, also known as St. Nicholas Cathedral, is a stunning example of Gothic architecture located in the heart of Fribourg, Switzerland. Its construction began in 1283 and was completed in 1490, with the distinctive tower being finished later in 1493. The cathedral is renowned for its impressive stained glass windows, many of which were crafted by the artist Józef Mehoffer in the early 20th century. The towering spire, reaching a height of 76 meters (249 feet), offers panoramic views of the city and the Saane River below. Inside, visitors can admire intricate wood carvings, a grand organ, and a serene atmosphere that reflects its long history as a place of worship and community gathering.
