Glen Canyon Dam is a concrete arch-gravity dam located on the Colorado River in northern Arizona, near the town of Page. Completed in 1966, the dam stands 710 feet tall and serves primarily for water storage, hydroelectric power generation, and flood control. It impounds Lake Powell, one of the largest man-made reservoirs in the United States, which stretches into southern Utah and provides recreational opportunities such as boating and fishing. The dam is managed by the U.S.
