Goryōkaku, located in Hakodate, Japan, is a star-shaped fort notable for its unique Western-style design. Constructed in the late Edo period, it was completed in 1866 as a defensive measure against potential foreign invasions. The fort played a significant role in the Boshin War during the Meiji Restoration, particularly in the Battle of Hakodate.
