Gosford Castle, located in Markethill, Northern Ireland, is a historic landmark dating back to the 19th century. Designed by London architect Thomas Hopper in the Norman Revival style, the castle was constructed between 1819 and 1859 for Archibald Acheson, the 2nd Earl of Gosford. The castle features an impressive array of turrets, battlements, and thick stone walls, reflecting the grandeur and opulence of its era. Over the years, Gosford Castle has served various purposes, including a military base during World War II and a hotel. More recently, it gained fame as a filming location for the popular television series "Game of Thrones.
