Gōtoku-ji is a historic Buddhist temple located in the Setagaya ward of Tokyo, Japan. Renowned for being the birthplace of the famous "Maneki-neko" or "beckoning cat" figurine, which is believed to bring good luck and prosperity, the temple attracts numerous visitors who come to offer prayers and leave cat statues as tokens of gratitude.
