These UNESCO World Heritage Sites were carved out of rock during the Pallava dynasty and showcase an incredible variety of architectural styles, including rock-cut caves, monolithic rathas (chariots), sculpted reliefs, and structural temples. Notable structures include the Shore Temple, which stands majestically by the sea, and the Descent of the Ganges, a massive open-air bas-relief.
