Halesi-Maratika Caves, located in the Khotang District of eastern Nepal, are a significant pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists. The caves are considered sacred and are believed to be the place where the Hindu god Shiva hid from the demon Bhasmasur. For Buddhists, it is revered as the place where Guru Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche) and his consort Mandarava attained immortality through the practice of tantra. The site attracts numerous pilgrims seeking spiritual blessings and is known for its mystical atmosphere, intricate cave formations, and religious significance.
