Henri Pittier National Park, located in the northern part of Venezuela, is the country's oldest national park, established in 1937. Named after the Swiss botanist Henri Pittier, the park covers an area of approximately 107,800 hectares and encompasses a diverse range of ecosystems, from coastal areas and mangroves to cloud forests and mountainous regions. The park is renowned for its rich biodiversity, housing over 500 bird species, making it a haven for birdwatchers. Additionally, Henri Pittier is home to numerous plant species, some of which are endemic to the region.
