The Hoggar Mountains, also known as the Ahaggar Mountains, are a highland region located in the central Sahara of southern Algeria. This rugged and dramatic landscape is characterized by its towering peaks, volcanic rock formations, and ancient geological structures. The highest peak, Mount Tahat, rises to an elevation of about 2,908 meters (9,541 feet) and is the tallest point in Algeria. The Hoggar Mountains are not only known for their striking natural beauty but also for their historical and cultural significance.
