This Rinzai Zen temple is affiliated with the Tenryū-ji school and was originally founded in 1605 by the warrior monk Tōyō Eichō. The temple is renowned for its serene garden, which is particularly stunning during the autumn season when the maple leaves turn vibrant shades of red and orange.
