Imperia is a striking statue located at the entrance of the harbor in Konstanz, Germany. Created by artist Peter Lenk and installed in 1993, the statue stands at approximately 9 meters high and weighs around 18 tons. Imperia is a satirical representation of a courtesan holding two figures in her hands: Pope Martin V and Emperor Sigismund, both depicted as tiny, powerless men. This artwork serves as a commentary on the hypocrisy and moral corruption of the clergy and nobility during the Council of Constance (1414-1418).
